Christopher McCourt, FNP, PMHNP-BC
Christopher McCourt has been a registered nurse since 1996 when he graduated from Mansfield Hospital School of Nursing. Since that time, he has worked in various setting with the majority of those being in ICU, ER and management settings. Most recently, he had obtained his master’s degree and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. During that time working in family practice he noticed that the majority of his patients struggled with mental health conditions. He decided that he wanted to focus specifically on mental health and went back to school to get his post-master’s certificate in Psychiatry from the University of Cincinnati. It was the best decision he ever made. He feels like he finally found his niche after 24 years in the profession.
Christopher likes to use his knowledge, empathy, and understanding to help formulate a plan with you to tackle your mental health condition. Christopher feels like he does more than just prescribe medications. He tries to tailor each session to meet the person’s needs by also incorporating some therapy into the session as well as discussing if medications are an option. His goal is to stabilize your mental health and continue working hard with you until that goal is obtained.
On a personal note, Christopher is a husband, a father of three wonderful children. With any spare time he loves to spend time with his family. He likes to root for most of the Cleveland sports teams even if it is futile. He feels his Ohio State Buckeyes are always there for him when the Browns let him down. He is an avid fantasy football player and loves to travel with his family.
